The best recipe for peas and Jamón/ham. Easy, light and tasty

The recipe for peas with ham is delicious and easy to prepare. The key ingredient in this case is the ham, which adds flavor and taste to this healthy dish.

INGREDIENTS

FOR 2 PEOPLE

TOTAL TIME: 30 min

  • 500 grams Fresh or pre-peeled frozen peas
  • 4 cups Water
  • 1 Onion
  • 1 Garlic clove
  • 1 spoon Flour
  • ¼ Glass of olive oil
  • 1 spoon Salt to taste

PREPARATION

1. To start, you should place the water in a saucepan, add the salt, and bring it to the boil. Once it boils, add the peas, cook them until they are al dente, and then drain them. Also, remember to reserve the cooking broth.

2. While the peas are cooking, dice the onion and the garlic clove into small cubes. Then, cut the ham into small pieces.

3. Pour the olive oil into a saucepan or a large frying pan, and when it's hot, add the onion and garlic.

4. Sauté them for a couple of minutes, and when the garlic starts to brown, add the chopped ham to fry for a bit and release the flavor we're looking for.

5. Next, add the flour to the sauté, and once it dissolves, add the peas.

6. When everything is integrated, pour in half a glass of the reserved cooking broth and cook it for three minutes. Before removing it from the heat, add salt to taste and serve it hot.

7. Finally, if you're using canned peas, you don't need to cook them. Just drain them well and sauté them with the onion, garlic, and ham for 5 minutes.

You also have the option to add small slices of ham instead of cubes. The result will be equally delicious!

You can now plate it! You can add a sprig of parsley for decoration, and voilà! A simple but very appetizing recipe.
