Endive offers infinite possibilities, and in fact, if we separate its leaves and place them in the shape of a "boat" we can introduce a combination of ingredients on its surface and enjoy 100% eating them. Their season starts in autumn and lasts until the hottest months of summer. In April or May, when the good weather begins, we want to prepare them with fresh and light ingredients, combining fruits and vegetables with foods of animal origin such as Iberian ham or cheese. We wanted to go for an original and unique recipe: endive boats with Iberian ham, pear, cheese and mixed nuts

A mixture of typical ingredients of Mediterranean cuisine that is both tasty and healthy thanks to the nutritional properties of each food. The differential touch in flavor is provided by the shavings of Iberian ham, in combination with the sweetness of the pear or nuts.

Do you know what ham shavings are? Do you want to know how to introduce them into your recipes?

Ham shavings are nothing more than chopped ham, but many people are unaware of the virtues of these delicacies, and the fact is that you will actually find more flavor in the jamón shavings than in a slice. Why is this? They come from the area of the Jamón closest to the bone where the meat is more cured, which is why the flavor is more intense and flavorful than that of a slice.

Due to the versatility of their shape, ham shavings are ideal for preparing an infinite number of dishes. They are convenient, practical and will help you add a touch of Iberian flavor to your daily meals. They are also a product widely used in haute cuisine because of their ability to add an intense and special flavor to dishes. Here are two posts from our blog so that you can learn how to enjoy the flavor of Iberian ham shavings in essence: What are ham shavings? and Ham Shavings: a delicious format.

Now we show you how to prepare this delicious recipe for endive wafers with ham! In just 15 minutes you will have it ready. Perfect for appetizers or as a complement to any meal.
