The four seasons pizza is one of the most classic varieties of pizzas, an essential proposal in the menu of every pizzeria. It is a traditional Italian recipe that includes a variety of ingredients from the Mediterranean cuisine and its combination is excellent and most appetizing. Although there are variations, the typical Italian quattro stagioni pizza consists of a base of tomato and mozzarella cheese, artichoke hearts, tomato and basil, mushrooms, pitted black olives and "salami" or Serrano ham.

One of the particularities is that, in many occasions, it is assembled distinguishing four parts, instead of distributing all the ingredients distributed by the pizza, as it is usually done. Thus, in each of the four portions, we find the ingredients that correspond to a season of the year. When distributing the ingredients, artichokes will represent spring, tomatoes and basil summer, portobello mushrooms autumn and ham or salami and olives, winter.

However, it is becoming more and more common to remove or add ingredients that are similar and mix them in the pizza evenly as it is usually done in the rest of the varieties. Let's prepare one of the most typical Italian pizzas: the four seasons pizza. An essential on the menu of every pizzeria.

We prepare our dough or pizza base, if we usually make it homemade. In our case, we use a pre-cooked dough, so in only 20 minutes we can have the pizza ready. Ideal for those who want to save time and have a perfect pizza. You can choose the type of dough you like best: whole wheat, spelt, etc.

The first thing to do is to place the dough on a clean and dry surface and stretch it with your fingers for a pizza roll forming a circle. Next, it is time to spread the fried tomato sauce.

Preheat the oven to 150 ºC / 300 ºF.

We are going to spread it well so that the dough surface is completely covered with tomato.

Now, add the mozzarella cheese. In our case, we have used the one that comes in slices for pizza.

On top we place the Parmesan cheese pieces.

Then the mushrooms, in this case, we used mushrooms that are already sliced. This way they all have the same exact shape.

Then we add the black olives

Bake at maximum power for 8 minutes.

Finally we place the sliced Serrano ham evenly distributed around the pizza. And we can bake for a couple of minutes more to let the ham get a little temperature. We can also save these two minutes in the oven and taste it with the ham completely raw, so it will keep its 100% authentic flavor .

Cut into 8 portions and serve, and enjoy!!
