Everyone has heard of cleansing diets. This concept refers to eating foods that help us to purify our organism and free it from toxins and harmful liquids in order to cleanse the digestive system. It is always best to use seasonal products in seasonal dishes: soups and vegetable creams such as celery, turnip, fennel, pumpkin, carrot or broccoli, among others. If you can’t give up rice, it is better to use wholemeal rice as well as pasta, and in moderate quantities, as wholemeal rice is richer in fibre, vitamins and minerals, as well as having fewer calories than normal pasta.

As for seasonal fruit, you can make juices, for example, orange juice. You can also add a lemon for its high Vitamin C content.

You can also make juices combining fruit and vegetables to detoxify the liver; pears, for example, are high in fibre and low in calories. You can add green leafy vegetables to fruit, such as lettuce, spinach or chard. In addition, foods such as carrots with a pinch of ginger or turmeric will act as an anti-inflammatory and give your juices a lot of flavour and colour.
